Walter Cole

Walter Cole

Walter “Hammer” Cole is a veteran builder, rebel and one of the co-founders of Hammertown. Known for his practical mind, physical strength and direct manner, he became one of the settlement’s most influential political and community figures.

“People don’t need someone above them. They need someone willing to stand beside them.”

Walter “Hammer” Cole became widely known during the uprising at Northern Settlement, where he led workers, builders and craftsmen in open rebellion after negotiations failed. The conflict ended with Hammer’s forces taking control of the settlement and Sheriff Jack Gordon choosing to surrender rather than continue a bloody fight between neighbors.

After the victory, Hammer released the captured lawmen and turned immediately to rebuilding. Under his leadership, Northern Settlement became Hammertown, and the construction foreman who had led a rebellion gradually became one of the town’s founders and most influential political figures.
